Wonderhop

A survey game to play together, free and online

Wonderhop is a free daily guessing game. You read a prompt like "Name a food that a lot of people hate" and try to give the answer most players gave. It works alone, but it is even better in a group, around one screen or each on your own phone.

It is the idea of the survey shows on TV, Family Feud in the US or Family Fortunes in the UK, without the studio: the survey is made of real players, and the questions change every day.

Start in 3 steps

  1. Open wonderhop.io in any browser, on a phone, a laptop or a TV. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
  2. Pick a game. Sky, where you look for the most common answer, is the easiest one to play as a group.
  3. Read each question out loud, agree on an answer together and type it before the timer ends.

Family game night, around one screen

Put the game on a laptop or a TV and let one person type. For each question, everyone calls out an idea, the group picks one, and you see right away how many players gave the same answer. The 30 second timer keeps things moving: no endless debates.

Want to keep score between you? Before the group types, everyone says their own answer out loud. Whoever said the answer that scores best gets a point. Four games of 7 questions make a short, lively evening.

Each on your own phone

Everyone gets the same questions on the same day. Play at the same time in the same room and compare at the end, or play whenever you like and compare later.

When you finish, the share button gives you your result and a link. Whoever opens it sees your score and can try to beat it with the same questions.

On a video call

Share your screen and play like around a TV: one person types, everyone answers in the call. Or everyone plays on their own device and posts their result in the chat when they are done.

In a classroom

Project the game and let the class vote with a show of hands before you type. Each question starts a quick discussion: why would most people say this? It needs no student account and nothing to install.

The questions are general knowledge, written for a wide audience. For a game with no screen at all, use the survey questions page: your class becomes the survey.

At the office

A short ritual for a coffee break or the start of a meeting: everyone plays the day's games on their phone, then you compare. The same questions for everyone make an easy conversation starter, even with people you do not know well.

Questions

Is it like Family Feud?
Close. In Family Feud, families guess the answers a survey gave. In Wonderhop, the survey is every player who answered the same question, and you type your own answers instead of facing a board. Abyss turns the idea around: you look for a real answer almost nobody gave.
Is it free?
The 4 daily games are free, with no ads and no account. An optional Hop Pass unlocks the archives, to replay past days, and an unlimited mode.
Can we play more than 4 games in one evening?
Yes, with the Hop Pass: the archives let you replay past days, and the unlimited mode keeps the questions coming.
How many people can play?
As many as fit around the screen. Online there is no limit: everyone plays the same questions.
Can a group play in different languages?
Yes. Everyone can choose their own language among 9 and still get the same questions, so you can compare scores.
